Blue (Lingerie) Christmas

I don’t know if y’all have noticed this… but one of the major trends this season is definitely a royal blue/black combination! Blue is one of my favorite colors, and when paired with black on a piece of lingerie… ooh, it just makes me shiver with excitement! It’s just as sexy as red and black, in my opinion, but offers a new level of sophistication and fashion since it’s not expected. So, without further ado, here are some of my favorite pieces that play on this trend:

1. Blue Magic Bra – Comexim

I LOVE THIS BRA. I still haven’t tried anything from Comexim, but they are on my “to-do” list. Unfortunately, this is the only set from my Christmas post that I’m not going to receive. But, beggars can’t be choosers. All I can do is hope that it’s still available come March 30 (my birthday!). My favorite part of this set is… all of it. I love the paisley-type pattern, I love the big bow in the center (though I do worry it would get smushed by my boobs), and I love the style of the matching thong – the thick sides look so flattering! I also love that the straps don’t look too “heavy duty” – a feature that I’ve come to accept about full-bust bras, but that I’m still not that crazy about.

2. CHP Noc – Ewa Michalak

This one is a pretty simple take on the trend – it’s mostly black – but that’s part of why I love it! It does it’s play on the trend while still being wearable as a basic. My favorite part of this set are definitely the cute matching bottoms – the thong pictured above has that great floral embroidery with hints of blue, and the briefs are just as cute, with a little blue bow on the back.

3. Tempt Me in Midnight – Curvy Kate

This set actually makes my heart hurt a little, because as you may know, my boobs did not get along well with the Tempt Me in Scarlet 😦 But it is beautiful none-the-less, and if the Tempt Me is a good fit for you, please buy this set so that I can live vicariously through your enjoyment of it.

4. Sapphire Garter Belt – Arabel Lingerie

I’ve actually never bought lingerie from an Etsy designer, usually because even though I love it, it’s outside of my budget! But this garter belt and panty set is decently affordable at £26.00, and would make a great match for whatever black bra is in your wardrobe (mine is a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too small Freya Deco – 30G). I especially like the cheeky sheer back!

As you can see, this color combination is popping up everywhere! I wanted to include this gorgeous set I saw in Victoria’s Secret the other day on this list, but I couldn’t find it online! I usually am not very inspired by Victoria’s Secret’s designs (not that I can wear them, anyway) but I do have to admit that I recently popped in there for some new panties and was pretty impressed by what I saw… I remembered VS as mostly molded, solid color, microfiber push-up bras, but this time I actually saw cut-and-sew bras, waist cinchers, and multiple garter belts! Maybe it’s just because it’s the holiday season and they know significant others will be in, buying sexy things for their partners, but their stock was much sexier than the last time I’d been!

What do you think of the royal blue/black color scheme? Do you have a favorite trend from this autumn/winter?

Christmas Shopping In Poland

Now that Thanksgiving is ending in just 1.5 hours, it’s time to start making my Christmas List! I’m not sure if you can tell from the bras I’ve reviewed on the blog so far… but almost every single one of them is a bad fit. I outgrow my bras constantly, so I have a constant case of the double boob. I’ve also realized through my bra journey that no matter how pretty an unpadded bra is, and no matter how well it fits… it simply is not going to get worn. Basically anything that does not give me a decent amount of cleavage is just not going to see the light of day, and this makes shopping a little bit more difficult, since almost everything available in a J cup is a sheer, 3 piece cup. The padded offerings from the UK in a J cup almost all run small (I haven’t tried the Daily Boost or the Smoothie yet, though!), and I really need a true-to-size J cup!

As a result, I have realized that I am going to be doing almost all my bra shopping exclusively in Poland for now, and have amassed a rather large Ewa Michalak wish list. I narrowed it down to make this post more reasonable (and because there is no way my parents can afford to buy me 5 or 6 sets for Christmas :P):

1. CH Karmelki and Figi Karmelki

All images courtesy of Ewa Michalak 🙂

There are quite a few reasons this bra has made it onto my wishlist. For one, I don’t own any “basic” bras aside from the PL Lilia, and what kind of girl doesn’t own a single beige bra? I also don’t own any boring bras though, and this bra accomplishes beige without being boring. The subtle latice embroidery is really gorgeous, and I love the lace and button details. I also want this bra because I feel like I’ve read before that Ewa Michalak is phasing out all the CH and HP bras in favor of the newer CHP style, so I want to try it out before it possibly disappears forever.

2. HP Koktajl and Stringi Koktajl

Like I said earlier, I don’t really believe in boring bras… and this one is definitely not boring! I don’t have any teal in my lingerie wardrobe right now, but I’d like to add some because it’s a color that basically always looks good on me. It’s incredibly flattering when I’m much more tan in the summer, but isn’t something that’ll wash me out when I’m pale in the winter. Basically I just want this because it’s super beautiful 🙂

3. CHP Mak and Figi Mak

The last thing on my list from Ewa Michalak is the CHP Mak. Red is my absolute favorite lingerie color on me. Nothing in the world makes me feel sexier than some good, red lingerie! This bra is a little basic, but I felt like if I got the CHP Milady instead that I would have too much black lace in my underwear drawer! Plus, I absolutely love the back of these matching panties.

There are also quite a few things I have on my list from Comexim, another Polish brand that I haven’t tried out at all yet. The one I have my eye on the most is the Blue Magic plunge bra and the matching panties.

The royal blue/black mix is really on trend for autumn, and it’s a look that I personally love. I think it offers a great alternative to the predictable red/black, but is equally sexy.

My only problem with Comexim is that in a lot of their bras I think I’m sized out. Looking at their size chart, my measurements put me just outside of a 60N. Really my measurement is a centimeter outside of the cup range for a 28 band, so I think that this is a brand where I would just suck it up and get a 65M, knowing that I would have to take the band in eventually. Their lingerie is simply too beautiful for me to not experience, and at the rate my boobs are still growing, I don’t want to put it off and then out grow it!

There are a bunch more things on my Christmas list, if I could just ask for anything I’ve ever wanted in the whole world, but with my parents budget in consideration these are the main things I’m requesting! What is on your list? Are you as obsessed with Polish lingerie right now as I am?

Curvy Kate Spring/Summer 13!

Eventually this blog will have reviews to help out all you lovely ladies who must resort to online ordering (like me!). I have reviews coming up for the Alegro Summer Dream, Curvy Kate Princess, Masquerade Rhea, Cleo Lucy, and the Curvy Kate Emily! First, though, I’m going to cover the beautiful SS13 photos that Curvy Kate just released!

I only have the Princess (in white) so far, but I loved it so much that an Emily is already on the way. This brand is my favorite in terms of keeping larger cupped bras pretty and young looking. I’ve found that even in brands that make very beautiful bras, once you get over a G cup they sort of start taking over your whole chest, something that is not desirable in the Deep South summer heat! This new collection is really stunning, so without further ado…

First up is a gorgeous new shape- the Enchant. This is an unpadded plunge bra, and as someone whose entire lingerie drawer is currently balconettes, this is a shape that I’m looking forward to trying!

Look at that gorgeous color!! I personally love purple, as its flattering on almost everybody. The other part of this style that I’m really impressed by are the adorable pink bows on the straps. I love little embellishments, but I’m glad to see that these bows were kept small. When I received my Princess, the ribbons were very large and floppy- I ended up cutting them off.

Next up is a fairly new style- the Lottie- in a fashion color!

Image

I haven’t been fortunate enough to try the Lottie at all yet, but part of the reason I haven’t ordered it is because I’ve yet to really love a colorway. This, however, has gotten me all in a fluster! The color! The floral! The pink mesh and lace! I am in love.

The next offering is their much anticipated Smoothie, in pink!

I’m pretty excited about this bra, since outgrowing the Deco range! I almost exclusively wear thin t-shirts and tank tops, and while I deal with lace and seams showing through, I really would love a good molded cup that doesn’t weirdly separate my boobs *coughfantasiecough*… It’s also coming out in this beautiful “blush” color that I’m even more pumped for:

Sorry for the super small image… can’t quite figure it out…

Next is another classic in a new colorway, the Portia.

Another style I haven’t tried yet, but is well loved. I’m a little iffy on the sea foam/fuchsia combo, although I love each color individually… I think I’ll have to see this one in person!

This is the one I’m personally the most excited for… the Desire.

Image

I love padded cups, and I love a plunge shape. And I love the color and the panties! I love everything!

A new addition to the Showgirl range, the Entice, gets a lovely spring makeover… and I have to say, I like this even better than the AW12 version!

Image

LOVE the vintage colors! Peach is one of the most flattering colors for my skin tone, not to mention that its a pretty color that is still discrete under clothes…

A few other classics are getting exciting makeovers next spring…

A lavender Princess, gray Romance, fuchsia and gray Tempt Me… Personally, I’m jazzed about the lavender Princess (more purple in what’s currently my favorite bra!) and the gray Romance (it sounds weird… but gray is kind of my favorite color…)

Here is the link for all of these photos, both for crediting purposes, and because you can see some of the smaller pictures in their intended size there (that small picture of the gray Romance really does not do it justice!).

What are y’all excited about for next spring?! Let me know!
